Using a piece of prepared chalk, the Dibya recites a cryptic mantra and draws a straight line along any inanimate object or surface. So long as this chalk is not washed or wiped away, whenever anything strikes the object or surface that would shatter or penetrate it. the line is instead knocked away in a small cloud of chalk. ending the potency of this ability.

Living in villages as tradesmen, Dibya would be called on to use this ability very commonly, using it on glassware, jugs, barrels and the like before shipping. Warriors would ask the Dibya to use this ability on the inside of shields, and would then place a leather or cloth covering over the line to protect it and prevent it from being wiped away from handling or wear of use.
